AA Milne was born in Kilburn, London, to parents John Vine Milne and Sarah Maria (born Heginbotham) and grew up in Henley House School, 6 / 7 Mortimer Road (now Crescent), Kilburn, London, a small public school that of his father running. One of his teachers was HG Wells, who taught there 1889-90. Milne attended Westminster School and Trinity College, Cambridge where he studied on a mathematics scholarship. There, he edited and wrote for Granta, a student magazine. He worked with his brother Kenneth and their articles appeared over the initials AKM. Milne was working to punch the attention of the leading British humor magazine, where Milne was a contributor and later became an assistant editor.
Milne in the British Army in World War II and served as an officer in the Royal Warwickshire Regiment and later, after a debilitating illness, the Royal Corps of Signals. After the war he wrote a denunciation of war titled Peace be with Honour (1934), which he retracted somewhat with 1940, the war with honor. During the Second World War, Milne was one of the most prominent critics of the British humor writer PG Wodehouse, who on his country estate in France by the Nazis and imprisoned for one year. Wodehouse made radio broadcasts about his internment, which were broadcast from Berlin. Although the light-hearted broadcasts made fun of the Germans to commit an act of near Milne Wodehouse accused of treason by collaborating with his enemy country. Wodehouse have some revenge on his former friend by silly parodies of the Christopher Robin in some of his later poems, stories, and claimed that Milne "was probably jealous of all the other authors .... Having said that, an A A Milne rare book such as a first edition copy of Winnie The Pooh even in poor condition will almost always be worth an awful lot more than a later common or garden reprint of the same book (even if that one is in perfect condition!)
